State Flower Collection
Hi friends,
Welcome to my blog! I wanted to share about my State Flowers Collection! So far I have 11 States done, and I’m planning to finish all the states by the end of 2025!
If you know me, you know I love flowers. I go “flower hunting” on my spring walks and strive to capture the beautiful florals I happen upon, and so it’s only natural that I would want to do a series of paintings showcasing the beautiful state flowers of each of the 50 states in the US.
I actually had this idea about 10 years ago! So, you can tell from that I may have some procrastination issues… The reality is, I was so busy with my job and social life that I felt overwhelmed by the idea of painting 50 flower portraits. Plus back when I had this idea I was living in San Francisco in a house with roommates and no space for an art studio in my home. While I loved that experience, I strongly believe having a proper space for creativity can make or break motivation for me. So I’m using that as my excuse, and you can too. ;D If you struggle like me with getting out your paints and starting, I strongly recommend creating a dedicated space to focus and create in your home, and just start little by little each day.

In any case, back to State Flowers, I wanted to create these State Flower paintings because I love the idea of paying homage to beautiful memory of your home-state or a state you have fond memories of with a few meaningful details. Having the State flowers show-cased is simply a beautiful way to remember some of the natural character of each state. Having lived in a few states myself, I know that feeling of nostalgia each place has for me and I felt it was important to have a memory in my home that brings me back to those wonderful experiences I had. I even have a laser-cut wood print of San Francisco and fondly show my friends and family the street I lived on and where I worked in the city.
Here are the 11 states I have so far, but the rest will be coming in the next few months. These are available for purchase as framed prints and unframed prints here.
These make excellent keepsakes for yourself or gifts for loved ones. Christmas, birthday, Mother’s Day or more! Who wouldn’t want one? Okay, okay… I’ll stop pitching now. Whether you would like to buy an original, prints or just learn more about my art feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Shop prints here
